Who Is NOBODY?, Qui est PERSONNE? (the French version of Who Is NOBODY?) and Who Is GREEN? are literacy based character education programs that are flexible and user-friendly for Grade 1 – 12 including Special Education to Gifted Students from inner-city to rural settings and public and private schools. All three teaching resources are easy to set up, self-running and reusable supporting all Character Education initiatives, including: Character Matters, Character Counts, building Character Traits, the Pillars of Character, Character Values and Virtues.

Each of the three classroom kits support students in exercising Howard Gardner’s Theory regarding the importance of applying the curriculum to real life experiences – all rooted in research. Because the real life experiences are based on service learning via community outreach projects, students naturally exercise all the Character Attributes, including: Respect, Perseverance, Optimism, Courage, Empathy, Honesty, Responsibility, Fairness, Initiative, Integrity, etc supporting Safe and Caring Schools and Safe Schools.

All four strands of literacy are exercised through the ready-to-go program, including: Reading, Writing, Oral and Visual Communication and Media Literacy.

Other curriculum links include: The Arts, Guidance and Career Choices, Physical Education and Health, Information Technology (IT), a Curriculum Link of Choice (for example Science) and Ministry Guidelines. Teachers often implement these self-running programs not just because they cover the curriculum but also because of the effective bullying prevention that results.

Research shows that respect is the number one indicator for success and all three programs give students a framework to build respect in a way that is earned and lasting so that students build self-esteem based on their character in action.

Who Is GREEN? supports EcoSchools and green schools initiatives by giving simple steps that help students discover their strengths and use them to help the environment so that their green projects are environmental and personally meaningful. Each class completes a scrapbook that documents all of their character into action, as does NOBODY who becomes SOMEBODY because the 3D attachments students add to the blue denim doll represent each individual student’s unique Character building projects.

Teachers love Who Is NOBODY? because the program achieves all the above every year as they reuse this reusable program but it is different every year - because their students are different every year!

All programs are easy, fun and DVD Implemented.

The Who Is NOBODY? classroom aid has many pet names from participating teachers such as: the NOBODY Project, Mr. NOBODY, blue doll that is made of denim, nobody, something from NOBODY [the title of a story by CBC’s Karen Horsman in the Ontario College of Teacher’s Magazine ( OCT ) called Professionally Speaking], nobody’s perfect and so on.

Rotary Clubs have donated kits across Ontario and Canada because of the shared goals, including: Service Above Self, Preventing Youth at Risk and Literacy.

All of the ready made lesson plans are set up by playing the implementation DVD directly to students.

All three programs have been successfully implemented in Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6, Grade7, Grade 8, Grade 9, Grade 10, Grade 11, Grade 12, Kindergarten and even Preschools and Daycare.

The program was developed by Kelly Clark, a teacher in Ontario, Canada, after she graduated with her PGCE at the University of London, London England and supply taught in elementary and secondary schools across London, England and Toronto, Ontario.
