In 2009, My son Eamon participated in the Who Is Nobody project through his school, John Dryden PS in Whitby, ON.
I have attached a newspaper article from the local paper that documents his journey.
He collected 3 hockey bags full of used and new sports equipment donated by local community groups to send to the Canadian troops in Afghanistan. The soldiers were kind enough to forward a photo of them happily testing the equipment and a letter of sincere thanks.
Eamon also received a letter from the Minister of Finance, Jim Flaherty, commending him on his efforts.
What a wonderful initiative this is! I hope it continues in schools and communities forever! It teaches our children to put others before themselves.
Wouldn’t the world be a better place if everyone thought this way, every day?
