Sistering is an organization that supports homeless, under housed and low-income women by developing skills to secure new employment opportunities with the aim of building a sustainable livelihood. For example, the following training is offered:

• Individual sewing instruction courses

• Opportunities for participants to make clothing and sell their products in the community

• Business training to enable women to investigate self-employment

• Other resources such as ESL and literacy training

• Etc.

In 2007, NOBODY (Who Is NOBODY?™ doll) and ANYBODY (Who Is GREEN?™ doll) chose to BE GREEN by using new material remains as stuffing as a means of diverting new materials from landfills! This switch was inspired by PRELOVED’s innovative operations and they are highlighted on the back of the Who Is GREEN?™ Student Manual to motivate all program participants.

PRELOVED was founded by Julia Grieve (an international model). Together with Peter Friesen, PRELOVED’s head designer, they have developed an internationally recognized clothing line that diverts used clothing from landfills to create one-of-a-kind pieces that are loved and PRELOVED and make a difference!

‘Music In Mind’ was founded by Glenn Marais, a Juno Award Nominee and a gifted singer-songwriter who plays guitar, harmonica and piano. He uses his passion to motivate young people to realize and develop their own talents. Glenn also raises funds for a range of causes through The Glenn Marais Foundation, including the ‘Cotland’s’ Organization that is in Cape Town, South Africa. Presently his goal is to raise $1 000 000 to go towards setting up sanctuaries for abandoned, abused & AIDS children ages 0-12.
