Kars on the Rideau Public School - Ottawa-Carleton District School Board - Who Is NOBODY?

Hi, my name is Kiara Carty and I go to Kars on the Rideau Public School.

I loved doing this project because it made me feel good to do something little that can change the world.β€” Kiara Carty, grade 5 student
I want to tell you about what my class and I have been doing this year. It is the Mr. Nobody project. One day my teacher, Mrs. Leith, brought in a box and my class was wondering what was in it. When she opened the box there was a little blue stuffed man that she took out. He was called Mr. Nobody.

Our teacher explained that throughout the year my class and I were going to make Mr. Nobody into a somebody. The way were were going to do that was everyone in the class had to do a good deed, whether it was doing something for someone or something or the environment.

So everyone had to come up with an idea of something to do and every week a different person would take it home and you would have to put an object on Mr. Nobody to represent what they had done. Then when they were done they would take it back to school and present what they had done for their Mr. Nobody project in front of the class.

There were a lot of different ideas like collecting cans for the food drive, cutting their hair for cancer, giving toys to kids that need them, planting trees and a lot more.

I loved doing this project because it made me feel good to do something little that can change the world. My class did this because we thought that every little thing you do makes a difference in the world.

I hope that after reading this you will be inspired to something to help the world because every little thing counts. That’s my motto.
